FAQs
I have heard not to get pregnancy massage during first trimester, is this true?
Yes. We require women to be 12 weeks along or more.
The first trimester is when you are at the highest risk for miscarriage. Many massage practitioners prefer not to give massages at this time because they do not want to take on personal risk in the event of something happening.
Can you use essential oils during pregnancy?
Some are okay.
There are several essential oils that should be avoided if you are trying to conceive, are pregnant, or are breastfeeding. A few generally safe oils when diluted are Bergamont, Chamomile German, Frankinsence, and Lavender. For more information, please check out this article: Guidelines for Aromatherapists Working with Pregnant Clients
Is it true you should not massage the feet when pregnant?
This is not true!
Your feet want and need the extra care when they are carrying you and the baby. However, it is true that there are acupressure points in the ankle area that should not be aggressively worked because they can cause contraction of the uterus.
